Alex and I stayed with Dad when we went down to Texas. Alex sleeping and the flowers were both drawn in the guest room of his house. Adding the color to the flowers was exciting - it makes such a difference seeing color, deciding what color and how much to put on. How much water do I need on the brush? This is so much fun - more people should do it! And I want to do it more often now. I'm hooked...

Traveling to Texas
Here is a portrait of Harrison Ford from the cover of Adventure Magazine. I started drawing it upside down then flipped it over to finish it. This is an exercise I started doing while reading Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. It really is interesting how different it feels drawing upside down. Well, I mean I was right side up but my drawing was upside down...

The First Page
This is my sketchbook. The first page.
Ever since my Mom went into the hospital (for the last time) I have been drawing just about every single day - on napkins, on paper scraps, on the computer. So I bought a sketchbook to organize my drawings. I'm not sure why this is happening. I think it is to learn to "see".
