Jenny
This is Jenny. She lives in Rockland and it seems like she's sailing just about every day. She also posts inspirational quotes. This one was recent and I "liked" it. "Happiness does not depend on what you have or who you are, it solely relies on what you think." - Buddha

David
This is David. Our parents were good friends when we were growing up in Houston.
Usually I am challenged to find a good photo to work from where my friends aren't smiling ear to ear. With David, there are no smiling teeth photos to be found. However, almost all of his photos carry a very subtle suggestion of a smile. That's what I was reaching for here.

Steve
This is Steve. We met about 10 or 12 years ago on a group ride. This progressed to racing against each other in time trials. We were pretty close in our times so it was always fun to see who was fastest at a particular race. This competition went on for a few years until he had to quit riding due to a back injury.
One of my favorite memories of Steve was showing up at a group ride and we were the only ones there (that should have been a good clue). About 15 miles into the ride black clouds appeared and quickly moved over us. Rain and high winds followed us all the way back into town. I miss riding with him.

Chuck
This is Chuck. He's an artist friend and lives down in Tenants Harbor. He has designed some amazing yachts and sailboats in his career as a naval architect and has even written a book describing many of them. These days he draws and paints and designs smaller sailboats.

David
This is David. He's an artist friend and he lives just down the street from me. When I first met him a few years ago I knew he would be the perfect model for a painting I had in mind. The gig required him to blow dandelion seeds into the air while I photographed him from different angles. He was a good sport about it but ended up with hundreds of seeds stuck to his white beard.
He has a sign in his yard that says "Beware of Attack Artist". He is always on the look out for a joke.

Linnea
This is Linnea. She is a scientist and lives in Rockport, the town next to mine. One summer a few years ago, we would get together twice a month or so with a group of friends and play lawn croquet - each time a different friend would host so the course was always different. It was a blast. She's a great cook and comes up with the best costumes for Halloween parties.
